Borgarnes to Stykkisholmur - August 28, 2019

What a glorious night’s sleep!   The temperature is perfect, the beds are just soft enough, and the duvet is the ideal weight!   I sleep straight through until morning, and Marilyn does, too!   There was a slight scare last night when the power blipped and her CPAP shut down!   Luckily she had bought a battery pack for the plane trip and so she connected that, in case there was another outage.   There wasn’t, but you never know! In the morning I have time to do my yoga before she is really functional and we go down to a leisurely breakfast around nine.   The spread is very European, with meats, cheese, cucumbers, tomatoes, fresh-baked bread, spreads, lots of cereal choices, and fresh apple and orange slices.   The coffee is fresh and hot and there is hot water for tea or hot chocolate.   After breakfast we chat with Dugar and learn that the photos on the wall are all the people who have owned the property, including the RIVER!, sin...

Arriving in Reykjavik/Keflavik and traveling to Borgarnes - August 27, 2019

We have a three-hour layover in JFK and find a table with electricity where we hang out.   Marilyn’s already eaten her chicken salad packet and crackers, so I have mine to catch up!   Okay, really it’s because I’m starving!   The Kind bar and juice didn’t hold me all that long. And we’re off!!   Connie picked me up right on time and we made it to Marilyn’s without a hitch.   Everything fit into Connie’s trunk and we flew down the Suncoast to the airport, arriving even earlier than our generous arrival time!   At security the nice man had to check Marilyn’s “suspicious” silver package - tuna! He recognized it immediately and sent us on our way. TIA has lots of electric outlets so Marilyn could charge her phone and she chatted with a young man who taught her some tricks about upgrading your seat on Delta. We’re seated across the aisle from one another and settle in quickly.   It’s only about a three hour flight to New York;   but we made such good time that we were half an hour early!   During the flight I got to watch “Tolkein” and munch on cranberry-apple juice and a Dark Chocolate Chunk Kind bar!   And later there was water for everyone! One of the attendants was going down the aisle and...
